Peace Militants enter Belgian Airforce Base
Militants that entered last Sunday the airforce base of Kleine-Brogel, Limburg (Belgium), have managed to caught their intrusion on camera and have put the film on youtube. Security personal could only arrest the intruders after more then one hour. The activists protested against the presence of American nuclear weapons on the belgian base.
According to Hans Kristensen, an expert of the Federation of American Scientists (FAS), the so-called 'bombspotters' have managed to penetrate 'deep' into the base. The activists first broke through the outer fence and then succeeded in passing the second security perimeter. They reached the zone where probably the nuclear weapons arsenal is stored.
Medal
"Probably the activists will be charged of illegal trespass of military domain, but actually they should be honored with a medal because they brought the security problems of the Kleine-Brogel base into the spotlight", says Kristensen on the website of FAS.
According to the expert the American army has permanently based 130 soldiers and stores between ten and twenty B-61 nuclear missiles.
